PCI News & Program Updates

SMB security tips for the holidays
The holiday shopping season has begun in many parts of the world. In the U.S. alone, the National Retail Federation is forecasting an increase in spending both in-store and online. Help us raise awareness of security basics small businesses can use to protect themselves during this especially busy time of year - and beyond.

New QSA Program Guide
As part of an ongoing effort to continuously improve the quality of PCI SSC programs, the Council has introduced a new resource to increase understanding of the Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) program and participation requirements, and address frequently asked questions. The QSA Program Guide is a resource for use by QSA Company primary contacts and QSA Employees specifically. The guide may also be a useful reference for merchants and acquirers in understanding the ongoing processes that QSA Companies and QSA Employees are required to follow to remain qualified and in good standing.

Participation Opportunities

2017 SIGs: Voting instructions
Now’s your chance to choose next year’s Special Interest Group (SIG) project!

SIG initiatives focus on specific payment security challenges that the PCI community wants guidance on addressing.

For 2017, instead of choosing new Special Interest Group topics, we’re asking you to vote on which existing SIG guidance you’d like the PCI community to update:

  • Please log in to the Participating Organization portal today to review your choices and take a few minutes to cast your vote.
  • Note: The voting period closes on 1 December, and we’ll announce the results in early January with information on how you can join the Special Interest Group.

Involvement in Special Interest Groups is a great way to provide your expertise to the Council and develop practical payment security resources for the industry.
