The “low-hanging fruit” - weak passwords, outdated and unpatched software and insecure remote access - are still at the root of most data breaches happening today! Smaller businesses, without dedicated IT security staff, are especially vulnerable to hackers exploiting these weaknesses in their systems.  **The good news:** The majority of these breaches could be prevented with three essential payment data security controls. **The even better news:** The PCI SSC has developed a new series of videos and infographics to help educate businesses on these leading risk areas and essential payment data security controls – available now, on the [**merchant resources section of the PCI SSC website**](https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/merchants/).
